Backyard started from a simple frustration: walking past a building, a plaque, or an odd little street corner and having no idea what its story was, and no good way to find out without stopping to search.
So Backyard does the searching for you, automatically. As you walk, it uses your location to figure out what's nearby and narrates real, fact-checked history and hidden stories about it, out loud, without you needing to open a browser or plan anything in advance.
Every walk feels a little different depending on the mood you pick: sometimes it's a straightforward history lesson, sometimes it's dark history and unsolved mysteries, sometimes it's just a funny, opinionated take, like walking with a local friend who happens to know everything about the block.
Every walk you take gets saved to a journal, so you can revisit it later, and you can discover routes other people have published, or publish your own for others to walk.
